D.I.Y. Fisheye Lens
Since I bought my E-500, I had been dreaming of a fisheye lens. But until now, I still cannot afford one. What I like about the fisheye lens are the effect of the round distortion and it can cover super ultra wide angle of sight... Read More...

A Day in Zoo Negara

After 15 years from my last visit to Zoo Negara, I finally get a chance to visit the zoo again. Some may say ; "Haiya...Zoo also want to go ar???...That place is only for kids-lah...". But to me, zoo is a very relax and educational place to visit. Well, nothing much changes since my last visit as far as i recalled. There are; still having Multi-Animal Show daily (the most memorable event from my last visit), train ride, giraffes and elephants, big horn cows, huge tortoises, caged macaques etc etc...

I reached Zoo Negara at 12:00pm and end my visit around 5:30pm. A very tiring day and I learned the way to take nice telephoto shot a lot here. All the shots below was using 40-150mm lens except the entrance photo, the map and the last photo.

Enjoy...

The entrance. The ticket price for adult is RM15.00, it's quite expensive to me...

This is the map I used throughout the visit. The coloured lines on the map are the routes I took. I stopped for 4 times to rest during the visit...

The first animal I met was Mr. Long Neck, a giraffe...

Opposite giraffe's house is a lake full of cranes...

Then I saw elephant...chained due to safety reasons...

I entered Bird House with high expectation but it was disappointing...

Well posed crane...

A giant black squirrel having his meal...

Then I saw a tiger walking around...

...and a puma resting. I took a short break before entering Mamalia Kingdom, Ape Centre and Savannah Walk.

Mr. Cow looking at me curiously...maybe hoping I can light up his cigar...

Mr. Bison with his handsome blonde hairstyle...

Inside Ape Centre, there were only 4 chimpanzee-like ape and an Orang Utan...That's Ape Centre...

"Hey dude...my teeths clean ar???"

Suprised to see hyena in Zoo Negara...

This is the so-called biggest spesies of rodents in the world - Capybara, also nicknamed heated leg (kaki bara).. :D

Long-horn deer resting on Malaysia-made savannah...

Later, I saw the front and the back of rhinoceros.

There are two types of flamingo - the white type and the red type... :) And then I take another short break...

I continued my visit to otter's house. They welcomed me by fighting with each other... There were 1st Round, 2nd Round, Quarter-final, Semi-final and Final Round...

I leaved the otters alone and saw a bear sun-bathing... =/

The boars were resting in the dry mud. I think they are quite old now...

Mr. Hippo cooling themselves in the pond....

Then I get to watch the daily Multi-Animal Show while taking another short break... First was the Orang Utan Jr. showing how handsome and strong he is... by 'kopek'-ing coconut...

Then come the main show by Mr. Seal... Really suprised the Seal show is still available until today. A very enjoyable show from Zoo Negara...

Then, I moved to the aquarium. Nothing special inside...but managed to see some you-never-see-before large fish...

One of the you-never-see-before large fish was the Arapaima. Accordding to the zoo, this fish can grow until about 4.0 meter. The fish in photo above have a length about 3.0 meter...

Then, I moved to the caged macaques section and saw this cute little pity macaque looking for something to eat...

I wonder why the butt of this baboon is bigger than others...

After that, I entered Children's World, acting as huge child...hahaha...... The colour of this parrot is so saturated...

This super-tamed eagle showing off his feather... Then I took my final break before entering Reptile House...

Saw a black-eyed crocodile resting on the rock...

And an iguana resting on the tree....

Also, I saw this two tortoises 'paktor-ing'...

While night is approching...the bat become more active...

While on the way back home...the sky was so blue and nice...

During this visit, I saw almost all animals was caged and chained, in limited space, as some animal have been living there for almost a decade or two. It's just like a prison, an animal prison. a crimeless prison. Everyone knows the reason why animal being caged and chained in the zoo. Everytime I saw an animal looking at me, no matter it is carnivore, herbivore or omnivore, there is a sad and sorrow mood in their eyes. What if the one being caged and chained is human being???...
