Super GT Round 4 Malaysia 2009, Part 1 : Machines

Another late post. And this post been late for one year. :D

Next week will be Japan's Super GT International Series Round 4. This race will be the 10th series held in Sepang F1 Circuit and also the only round held outside of Japan. This year, I'm not able to attend the race live in Sepang but maybe will go for Friday session for the support races...

As I'm not able to attend the race, so, this post will be all about last year race. Last year I'm able to visit the Sepang F1 Circuit pit lane. It was an awesome experience to me as I can get very close to the machines and of course, race queens... :D

Followings were photos of the machines I took last year. Enjoy... :D

2010 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix, Part 3

This part is the photos of the mid-standing team. Renault and Force India had improved alot compared to last season. Their cars can be very competitive with the top teams at some point of the race. If they keep and improve their performance as the season goes, they can become one of the top teams too...

2010 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix, Part 2

The race was over yesterday. Red Bull Racing won the race with incredible 1-2 podium finish with Sebastian Vettel's first win of the season. Nico Rosberg came in the strong third place, gave home sponsor Petronas their back to back podium finishes. Read more news HERE... :D

This post will have photos of the bottom four teams that yet to score any point. Enjoy... :D

2010 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix, Part 1

Formula One Championship have come back to Malaysia with the third race of the 2010 season. The race will be held in Sepang F1 Circuit from 2nd April 2010 to 4th April 2010...

Sepang F1 Circuit entrance...

I only went for the first practise session for this season because I cannot afford this season ticket. I managed to take almost 400 photos of F1 cars in only one session and really satisfied with the photos. Well, there was some problem to my Zuiko Digital 40-150mm F3.5-4.5 lens and most of the panning photos taken with high shutter speed, which is not a good setting for panning shooting...

Following are the photos with overview of the Malaysian Grand Prix and around the circuit. Enjoy...

2009 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix III

Part 1
Part 2

And finally the three top teams of season 2009. Season 2009 was dominated by debutant Brawn GP and Red Bull Racing, and top teams with big budgets such as Mclaren-Mercedes, Ferrari and BMW-Sauber struggled with the new rules introduced in 2009…

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes (71 pts)

Lewis Hamilton (49 pts)

Heikki Kovalainen (22 pts)

Red Bull Racing (153.5 pts)

Mark Webber (69.5 pts)

Sebastian Vettel (84 pts)

Brawn GP F1 Team (172 pts) – 2009 Constructor Champion

Jenson Button (95 pts) – 2009 Driver Champion

Ruben Barrichello (77 pts)

Well, the race ended early because of the rain. As you can see from some of the drivers and constructors points which have XX.5 pts, it is because of the race ended less than 75% of the scheduled distance was completed. So half points were awarded at this race.

The 2010 season will starts in one week with season opener will be held in Bahrain. Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix (2nd April - 4th April 2010) will be the third race of the season, and I wish I could get cheap ticket before the race, I wish… :D The new season will be exciting one with additional teams to the grid and of course the come back of Michael Schumacher. I am really looking forward for this season – 2010 Formula One Championship!!!...

p/s: I am definitely going for the Free Practise session on Friday because it’s FREE. Hope there will be no rain that day. And will post up the pictures earlier this year… :D

2009 Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix I

Late post again… Last year I went to watch my fist ever Formula One race which been held in Malaysia. It was like a dream comes true. If there was no cheap student ticket (normal ticket was extremely expensive!!!) , I would not drove to Sepang F1 Circuit to watch this event, although I am a hardcore F1 fan. Anyway, I’m glad I did went to watch the race. It was a great experience!!!... :D

I went for 3 full days – Free Practise Session, Qualifying Day and Race Day – and took tons of pictures. But almost 70% of the pictures were useless (either blur or unfocused). I managed to take every drivers’ pictures and would like to showcase all of them here. So let’s start with the team with the least points in 2009 season…

Sebastien Bourdais (2 pts)

Sebastien Buemi (6 pts)

Force India F1 Team (13 pts)

Adrian Sutil (5 pts)

Giancarlo Fisichella (8 pts)

Renault F1 Team (26 pts)

Fernando Alonso (26 pts)

Nelson Piquet Jr. (0 pts)

Stay tuned for more… :D

Powered Paragliding (Paramotoring)

Beside hot air balloon activity during 1st Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009, there was also a side event, powered paragliding (or paramotoring). I managed to catch some photos of this sport. And it seems to be very nice and exciting.

Powered paragliding, also known as paramotoring, is a form of ultralight aviation where the pilot wears a motor on their back (a paramotor) which provides enough thrust to take off using a paraglider wing. It can be launched in still air, and on level ground, by the pilot alone — no assistance is required. In many countries, including the United States, powered paragliding is minimally regulated and requires no license. The ability to fly both low and slow safely, the 'open' feel, the low equipment and maintenance costs, and the portability are claimed to be this type of flying's greatest merits. Powered paragliders usually fly between 15 and 45 mph (25 and 70 km/h) at altitudes from 'foot-dragging in the grass' up to 18,000 ft (5400 m) although most flying is done under 500 ft (150 m) AGL (above ground level). Because of the low forward speed possible and sensitivity to crosswinds, paramotoring is impractical for most of the year over much of the globe, and is generally a summer sport. 1st Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009

1st Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009 had been held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from 19-22 March 2009. Me and few friends went on the first day of the event, but unfortunately, we were late. Most of the balloons had flew to somewhere. Only left 3-4 balloons yet to fly at the time we reach there. Thus, I had only few balloons to show here. I hope you will like it... :D

DigiColor Photography Festival 2009

The stage...

Here comes another old photos post. My friend and I went to DigiColor Photography Festival 2009 in Mutiara Complex, Kuala Lumpur last March 2009 for it's opening ceremony. DigiColor is a Malaysian photography retail shop where you can get cameras and all types of equipment and accessories there. Well, our purpose was to shoot portrait photos of the models there. Not much models for the first part of the event and we did not wait for the second part and went home early. Followed were some portrait photos taken that day. Enjoy... :D
