My mum's 富贵花 (Adenium Obesum) had been invaded by three caterpillars. The caterpillars were quite huge. The plant itself was not really that healthy anymore, and with the invasion of the caterpillars, my mum's sadness was doubled. So, I had to remove them from the plant and moved them to bushes 100 metre away from my house so they can continue invade other plant before become a beautiful butterfly. Me myself was not a big fans of insect so removing them from the plant was gross and disgusting. Below are some photos before I take them away... :D
Eat, eat, eat...
Caterpillars are the larval form of a member of the order Lepidoptera (the insect order comprising butterflies and moths). They are mostly phytophagous in food habit, with some species being entomophagous. Caterpillars are voracious feeders and many of them are considered pests in agriculture. Many moth species are better known in their caterpillar stages because of the damage they cause to fruits and other agricultural produce. The etymological origins of the word are from the early 1500s, from Middle English catirpel, catirpeller, probably an alteration of Old North French catepelose: cate, cat (from Latin cattus) + pelose, hairy (from Latin pilōsus). ZZkang, if it's one or two, I'll let it survive and wait for the butterfly to come out. If too many, I'll do what you just did. ;)
